When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer? All my life I wanted to be a teacher, and when I was 19 I did that, and I’m still doing that. Over the last 20 years I have read a lot of children’s books. I LOVE children’s books! The illustrations, the words the whole experience of reading a story to a group of children. I can think of a better way to mix my 2 passions, than to have the privilege of sharing my story with children all over the world.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk? I write in the dark, sometimes on my iPad, sometimes on the computer. The only light is from the devise I am currently using. Why? Perhaps it’s because I like to save energy, or because I get inspiration from the dark. Both of these reasons could be true, but the real reason is I find it peaceful in the dark. I have spent many years writing lesson plans in a dark nap room; it’s what I’m used to.
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite? One, but I would love to write more, and spend more time in the dark.
What do you think makes a good story? Something that can get the audience involved in the story, and care about the characters. Mischief and magic are fun too!
